Kyrle Chapel

We are raising funds to restore the Kyrle Chapel.  We want to redecorate the chapel, professionally clean and reletter the wall plaques, paint the mediaeval railings and restore the plain mediaeval window and the wonderful Assession Window by Charles Emer Kempe.

The Chapel was built in the late 1200s as a Chantry Chapel but was adopted by Sir John Kyrle of Homme House in 1628 after he was made a Baronet in 1627, when he decided to create this wonderful Tomb for himself and his wife ready for their demise! Sybil died around 1635 and Sir John died in 1660.
