Much Marcle is twinned with Le Barroux, a delightful hilltop village in Provence, surrounded by vineyards, cherry orchards and olive groves. It has stupendous views of Mont Ventoux and is close to the historic towns of Carpentras and Avignon.
Visit to France 15th-18th June 2017
We all had a wonderful time in the sunshine going on organised trips, having all our delicious Provencal meals outdoors (either with our respective hosts or in lovely, friendly gatherings) or taking a dip in the pool. As always, the visit was over all too soon and we made our emotional farewells, with a promise to see everybody back here in Much Marcle next year.
Anyone in the village who is interested in the twinning is welcome to join in the events.
What does twinning involve?
It is great fun; families act as hosts and activities include visits to local attractions, walks to explore the countryside, community meals and children’s events. So far no-one has felt that a lack of conversational French has stopped their enjoyment of twinning trips.
Those who have been hosts, in Much Marcle, or who have been visitors to Le Barroux, have all had a great time – just look at the photos!

The committee organises various fund raising events, many of them held at Hellens Manor, the home of Adam Munthe who actively supports the twinning association.
